This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and driven individual to join a small, motivated and growing charity, in Brent. This new post requires an experienced and competent Fundraising Manager to enable the charity to continue to grow its financial sustainability. You will bring your fresh perspectives and impressive track record of securing significant income from a variety of income streams to deliver an effective fundraising strategy, that will enable us to offer support to the growing numbers of unpaid carers in Brent.
You will be responsible for the organisation and management of all of the fundraising activities. This is a proactive role which includes raising the profile of the organisation to the community and potential funders.
To secure this unique opportunity, you must have:
- A wealth of experience driving fundraising activity in similar organisations and successfully winning sizeable grants from major funders, ideally including the Big Lottery and major charitable trusts.
- Proven success in setting and achieving stretching targets for income generation.
- Proven management experience and inspiring leadership qualities.
- First-class relationship-building skills, especially at a senior level with existing and potential funders.
- Outstanding communication, analytical and research skills.

“Making unpaid carers’ lives better” is at the heart of what we do. Brent Carers Centre is the only local charity in London Borough of Brent that provides family carers living in Brent, or caring for a person living in Brent, with an extensive range of information and advice services on all aspects of their caring responsibilities. Our vision is “To ensure that unpaid carers are recognised, valued and supported to live rather than just exist.”
We are seeking to appoint new Trustees to fill current and forthcoming vacancies on the Board, who will add value and make a contribution to the overall direction of the organisation. Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Centre, setting its strategic direction, monitoring its performance and prioritising its role and activities. As volunteers, Trustees receive no payment for their contribution to the Centre.
We welcome people from the widest possible diversity of background, culture and experience to help ensure that the Board is representative of the communities we serve.
We are looking for people with Business Management, Finance, HR (Personnel), Fundraising and Marketing skills.

Volunteering Opportunities with Brent Carers Centre
Brent Carers Centre offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities for Carers. Volunteers are a valuable resource in the delivery of Brent Carers Centre services.
Anyone can volunteer. It does not matter what your skills, experience or background are, or how much time you have to give. Even if you only have a couple of hours a week to spare, we will have something to suit you, for as long as you are available.
In return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent doing something worthwhile. In addition, volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain useful experience. You will also find it enjoyable.
As a volunteer you will receive:
- Payment of out-of pocket expenses (such as travel);
- A clear idea or written outline of the role to be undertaken; and
- Appropriate training and support.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
- Office Administration
- Social Media Communications
- Counsellors (qualified or in their final year of training to join our counselling service for carers).
